Tony Hichens talks about the reference he received from Mr Harris, Headmaster of Helston County Secondary School in 1955. He describes the job that he got with the railway. He also describes his classroom in detail and talks about some of the teachers and the lessons he enjoyed at Penrose Road school. Helston County Secondary School was formerly known as Helston Secondary Modern School. In the sixties and early seventies the Penrose Road school was known locally as the ‘Green School’ because of its uniform of dark green and grey.
