Tin mine half a mile North-West of Hewas Water on the Truro to St. Austell road. The rotative beam engine did the pumping in addition to driving the small battery of Cornish stamps. The great interest is every man whether surface or underground is exhibiting the tools of his trade. The 4th man from the left standing is holding a Cornish pump "Bucket". Next to him is the sample taker holding his "Vanning Shovel". The 9th and 8th men from left standing are blacksmiths with hammers. The man extreme right with oil can is the engin driver. The men with candles fixed with lumps of clay to their hats are miners.
