<text>
Billy Stevenson has worked in the fishing industry his entire working life. His photographic collection is well-known in Newlyn.

However, it is not so well-known that Billy is a keen amateur photographer himself. He has documented, through his photography, all aspects of fishing life in and around Newlyn. From community events through to the harsh realities of life at sea, to boats, maintenance and engineering, his collection is a hugely important study of fishing through the latter half of the 20th century.

A sample of Billy's collection is presented here, from the otherwise largely ignored period from the mid 1970s to mid 1980s.
