Nicholas Peters, Boat Builder, c1930
Boat Builder, Nicholas Peters, of the Peters family of Freshwater Boatyard, St Mawes. Renowned for their innovations relating to development of the Cornish Pilot Gig. Nicholas is pictured by the stern of four-oared gig ‘St Mawes’ built for Pilot Andrews in 1840. Nicholas was the last generation of the family to build gigs.
